Our club, the Kingston Archery Club, has been using four of these target butts since Mar 2022. We built our own stands using 2 x 4 lumber. We use them on both our indoor and outdoor ranges. While outdoors, they are stored in a sea container on the outdoor range when not in use for club nights, lessons and target archery. Our overall impression of them to date is very positive. They are large enough to hold the WA 122cm target, or two 60cm or four 40cm's. They stop arrows shot from bows of up to 60# draw weight without the need of the hanging backstop, of which we have purchased one, just in case. At 24 kg (53 #) the target butt itself can easily be lifted and moved by any two of our adult members. The great aspect of this is that it has allowed us to move the target butts and their stands outdoors from the church basement where we shoot, once our indoor season has finished. This has provided us with a target butt that we can use year round, making them a lot more cost effective. The procedures for changing around the blocks to rotate the damaged areas are very simple. We haven't had to do so yet, however we practiced doing so when we first received the target butts. The wooden frame of the target is constructed of light wood and is take a beating but should be easy to replace. Our only concern with the product is it's rapidly rising cost. We purchased them in Nov 21, when they were $850 each and the price has already risen to $1100.00 per unit. At our current usage rate we hope to get 4-5 years out of these target butts before we need to look at replacements.
Our club has used these targets since 2016 and have shot them at our indoor range, still using the original ones they get an average of 300 arrows a week. Now we are moving these ones outside and putting new ones up for another 5 years.
Thanks they are a fantastic target butt
