How the New Tariffs Affect Archery in Canada

As of September 8, 2026, Canada's new counter tariffs are in effect and the Canadian archery industry is being affected.

Archery and sporting equipment covered under tariff item 9506.99.00 is subject to a 50% tariff when the goods qualify as U.S. origin.

However, not all American archery companies will be impacted in the same way. While a product may be marketed and sold by an American company, that does not necessarily mean it was manufactured in the United States. 

Brands such as Mathews, Bear, PSE, Elite, Darton, Easton, Hamskea, Shrewd and Axcel will see most of their products impacted. Compound archery will be hit the hardest.

What are we doing?

We are just as frustrated as you are with the significant increases in shipping and product costs over the past few years. We understand how much these rising costs affect archers across Canada and we are constantly looking for ways to keep our prices as competitive as possible.

If the current situation continues, we will be reviewing the brands and suppliers we work with and making adjustments to our product selection as we move into 2027.

U.S. made products currently in stock as of August 26, 2025 will not be subject to price increases related to these tariffs.

Any special orders or pre orders placed before August 25, 2025 will have the original price honoured. If we are unable to honour the original price, customers will have the option of receiving a full refund.
