I shoot a 500-600 grain arrow depending on the setup and they really embed into the targets and the heat caused from passing through melts the foam to the arrows. Arrow lube works great, but it doesn’t always work and trying to pry a carbon arrow out of the target can be difficult if not impossible at times due to ability to grip the surface.
Buy one of these, they provide exceptional surface arrow to grip the shaft. But be warned do n to apply arrow lube to the shafts and try to pull out with one of these. If you do just put the lube on the first 4-6” of the arrow, otherwise you will not be able to grip the shaft.
