While using it I didn't feel anything problematic but I found that throwing on the 4" extender with my 28" long rod made the system a bit too long to where my stabilizer would hit the ground after release. The extender is just there to do as the name implies and extend your stabilizer anyways, so just get this if you actually need one, it does the job.
